The 29 year old tennis player left the court with a great round of applause from the audience. A video with some nice declaration from his fellow tennis players was also put together, including messages from Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray. Safin won 2 grand slams including one U.S open and one Australian Open. He said that the money he made playing tennis created many oppurtunities, and opened many doors. " I am now closing one door and I hope another one opens up". He ended up wishing his adversary, Del Potro, all the best in his career.
